2002 Honda Accord 2.0 VTEC
£200
Description
This is a manual 2002 Honda Accord in dark blue with the 2.0 litre VTEC engine. Reason for price, it needs an MOT. The car fully working is worth around £500, but will cost a few hundred to pass. We no longer have a need for it so looking to sell instead. Due to no MOT and SORN, arrangements with a garage will need to be made to drive it away.
Good points:
Runs well. Engine and gearbox feel good.
Sound system is amazing
Hatchback gives loads of room in the boot compared to a saloon
Interior is in good condition
Air Conditioning (haven't used in a while but was working)
Cambelt done last year
Serviced last year, little usage since (oil maybe could use a refresh)
New battery
New starter motor
New exhaust
We bought the code for the radio if the anti-theft ever trips (can happen when disconencting the battery)
Bad points:
MOT - 4 points on the chassis need welded. They are small but failed due to their position. I have pictures of these if needed, gumtree image limit didnt let me add them.
MOT - SRS light is on. This is due to removing the seat, however it needs reset after reconnecting the SRS seat harness. The MOT garage didnt do this for some reason.
MOT - Upper suspension arm ball joint needs replacing. Would DIY if I was keeping the car, ball joint is cheap if you have a press, easier if buying the whole upper arm.
MOT - needs a new steering rack gator, and a new reg plate bulb
Clutch feels worn, either needs adjusted or replaced at some point
Body work has a few cosmetic scrapes and marks. I cant see any rust.
Cruise control doesn't work
Overall, once MOT'd, its a good, cheap runabout. The interior is comfortable enough for long distance or commutes, and the radio/speakers are great. Bought it little over a year ago as a learner car but it didnt see much use after a few months. Had some fun fixing up the mechanical bits, I found it refreshingly easy to work on for anyone into DIY, but really have no need for it and welding is my limit.
Can provide more pictures if needed, £200 is fair for the spec of the car with the work needed, or good for spares/repair or DIY practice.
