Although our residents , who range in age from 20 years old, have high dependency nursing needs, have severe physical neurological disorders (spinal & brain injury), some with invasive and non-invasive ventilation, if you have previous experience of caring for this type of patient then that would be an advantage but if you are reading this and do not think you have the skills but want to be part of our team then we can offer training, mentorship and supervision for the right carers.

We expect to deliver the highest standard of care to our residents and we offer our staff a comprehensive and full training package so your commitment and interest in ensuring that you personally deliver high standards of care is essential.
The positions require you to work rotational day and night shifts, during the week and at the weekends. All shifts are 12 hours (8am-8pm or 8pm-8am). You will be contracted to work 3 shifts a week although additional shifts will be available if you wish. We can also accept candidates that wish to work only night shifts but please note we are not in a position to offer only day shift working.
All new staff are required to attend a 4 day induction training programme on commencement of employment.
All staff will then receive a months training on their unit during DAY shift times. For staff that are applying to work night shifts only you will be required to work your first month shifts on day shifts only as this will be an important part of your induction training.
Pay Scale: £7.75 during the week & £8.25 at the weekend
Duties: Assist qualified staff in providing the highest possible standard of care for residents. Assist residents with personal care. Assist residents with mobility, moving and turning. Help with drinks and meals and with feeding residents if necessary. Listen and talk to residents, relatives and friends. Participate in social activities for residents. Maintain a respectful, non-judgemental and caring attitude. Assist in providing a homely, welcoming, friendly and professional environment.
This is going to be a challenging, varied and busy role so you will need to be focused, reliable and flexible.

If you have an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care this would be an advantage, however it is not essential.
If you are able to show potential in your work then there will be opportunity for you to train and to learn competencies in trachae and ventilator care and to progress and take promotion to become a Senior Care Assistant within the Home. An enhanced pay scale and seniority is applied to this position.
