Description
This is a 4 person tunnel tent with two x 2 person sleeping compartments (or one sleeping and one large enough to store sports equipment) and a living area that’s high enough to stand up in comfortably even if you're 6' tall!. There is a big front window and doors on both sides. In good weather, the front flap can be propped up to make a porch - metal poles are supplied. See brochure picture attached.
The tent has fibreglass poles and is pitched flysheet first. Full instructions are included. I have just pitched it in our garden to take some photos and will leave it there for a day or two so if you are quick you can see it before buying. If you want to buy it you'll have to help take it down though!
It comes with a carry bag (weight is approx 14kg) and there are a couple of spare guy ropes and also a small tent repair kit (seam sealant).
It’s a very comfortable layout and we very much like it. The reason we are selling it is that we tend to camp in extreme places in wild weather conditions whereas the tent is suitable for sheltered lowland / valley use in fair to moderate weather. The first time we used it we experienced a gale on an exposed site in the mountains and 2 poles snapped. These have been replaced and a small split in one other pole has been mended. The picture shows the slight damage that remains - basically one of the guy rope hooks has come off but could be sewn back on. The metal poles are slightly rusty and the tent is a little muddy due to the conditions it was used in, but the canvas is in great condition other than the above.
If you are planning some normal family camping on less exposed sites or a couple wanting a comfy camping experience and safe storage for bikes etc this is a great tent to try. It wasn't a cheap tent - it has had less than a week's use and the price (around the cost of 1 night in a B&B!) already reflects the minor damage so please no time wasters...
